Another personal account of one pilgrim's journey. For me personally it was disappointing to read that the author chose to stay in hotels instead of the Albergues. As a recent pilgrim it was exactly this experience that made the Camino so fascinating, regularly hilarious, unexpected, and intense. Another criticism is the repeated whining about the aches and pains of the way, and the exaggerated difficulty of some of terrain. This could give many a pilgrim wannabe a false impression. I had no training before I went and through mostly common sense and pre-Camino research managed to avoid and/or overcome many physical and psychological challenges. He does capture one aspect of the Camino that I agree with completely: it's the relationships that you develop along the way that become so important, so meaningful, and that ultimately define your Camino experience. One thing that did make me laugh out loud was his description of O Cebrerio as a place that looks like Asterix and Obelix could walk out of at any moment. Oh so very, very true.
